Managing Your Account

Managing Your Account

This guide provides you further information about managing your account, from your privacy settings and data, to your password, notifications and profile settings.

There are lots of options available to uRoutine users, to help you to manage your account. These can mainly be found in your settings page, with the exception being managing your profile, which is accessed directly through your profile page.

Your account settings are also found within your profile page, using the 'Edit Settings' button, which takes you to your main account settings.

Changing Your Password

You can change your password within the main settings page. To do this, make sure you first have your current password ready as you will need to type this in, in order to set a new password. If you need to change your password but don't yet know it, you can reset it by visiting the following link - https://www.uroutine.com/reset. When changing your password, please ensure it is at least 8 characters, and includes a special character, an uppercase character, a lowercase character and a number.

Changing Your Email or Username

You can change your email address and username within the main settings page. To change either of these settings, you will need to re-type your password, for security purposes. We recommend only changing your username if you have to - this is often the way people find one another and changing it may be confusing for fellow users.

Your Profile Visibility and Privacy

Within uRoutine we try to keep privacy as simple to understand as possible. We have two privacy settings. The first is your profile privacy setting and there are two options here:

  • Public - If you choose to set your profile as public, this means your commitments and activity are visible, and anybody can follow you. Looking for real accountability? This is the way to go and publicly commit to your goals and routine.
  • Private - If you set your profile as private then, immediately, it will be private and only available to you. People can request to follow you, and you can choose whether to accept or decline their requests.
The second option we have for privacy is your search engine visibility setting. This has two options and these are outlined below:

  • Yes - Search engine visibility is set to 'yes' by default, and this allows search engines to find and index your profile page. This will include your name, username, profile bio and profile picture. If your profile is set to 'public' (as per the setting above) then it will also allow search engines to find and index your routine and commitments. This means your profile may appear on search engine results, including, for example, Google. Please note: if your profile privacy setting is 'private' then search engines will NEVER be able to see your commitments or routines.
  • No - If you would prefer that your profile page not appear on search engines, you can easily select this option. Updating this setting can take a few days to reflect on search engines and if it has previously appeared it may take time to be removed.

Email & Push Notifications

We offer a number of email and push notification categories. These are designed to help you to stay on track with your routine and commitments, and we send intelligent reminders, primarily by push notification but with additional email notifications, from time to time. You can opt-out or opt-in at any time to these.
